Since the birth of the U.S., many locations throughout the thirteen original colonies have laid claim to being the crossroads of the American Revolution. Yet Hopewell, New Jersey, stands alone as the actual site where General Washington landed his troops after crossing the Delaware River on Christmas night in 1776, to launch his surprise attack on the German troops partying at Trenton. Most historians agree that the Battle of Trenton was the turning point of the war, thereby securing Hopewell’s historical place as both the geographic and inspirational crossroads of the American Revolution. Incorporated in1891, Hopewell is a town of 2,000 in-borough residents, with an additional 2,000 who consider the borough to be their community. It has been featured in New Jersey Monthly magazine as one of the "10 best small towns in NJ." Genuinely friendly residents and top flight schools make the town "a magnet for young families."

Surrounded by Hopewell Township and located in Mercer County, home to the State Capitol of Trenton, Hopewell Borough has the best of all worlds. It's a quick trip to both New York City and Philadelphia, with train service from Princeton Junction, Hamilton and Trenton. The Mercer County Airport, located near the southwestern border of Hopewell Township, is fifteen minutes from the borough. Princeton, a cultural, historical, shopping and educations mecca, is close by. For nearby recreation, hike the Sourland Mountain Preserve and understand why Charles Lindbergh, from an aerial view, chose to build his home in Hopewell. Jog or bike along one of the many Mercer County area wilderness trails.

Hopewell Borough recently celebrated the tri-centennial of its settlement during the first decade of the twenty-first century. But Hopewell Borough is more than a traditional, historic, small town. In addition to two working farms, the town is home to over 100 businesses, including modern communications, publishing, antiques and manufacturing firms. Within a few miles of Hopewell are the corporate headquarters and offices of Bristol-Myers Squibb, Merrill Lynch, Lucent Technologies, Educational Testing Service and Janssen Pharmaceutica.
